Little Sephora Haul ❤️

64ACC682-30DE-4AE4-9E87-D911D0DA5400

For my birthday, I was generously given some Sephora gift cards (thank you-you know who you are❤️) and did me a little shoppin’. I actually had the Fenty Beauty Foundation in my cart, and by the time I went to check out and put the gift card info in? Sold out. Wtf. S’ok. Next time.

Even better, it was delivered on a Sunday-it came vis LaserShip, and I’ve heard horror stories about them, but no issues yesterday. On with the makeup!

The other foundation I wanted to try was the stuff from the new peach line from Too Faced-

D173FFA0-B202-427F-B55E-C711D4BE9604It has a pump, and I was expecting a stronger fragrance from it, but it’s a very light, sort of sweet smell-more sweet fig, less peach. This foundation retails for 32$.

It’s probably in the thinner side consistency wise, but not watery at all. I’m in the shade Porcelain, and it seems to be a good match.

Next, since this is literally all over IG and the internet, I really wanted to try the Huda Beauty Lip Strobes-

7320D05B-3D5A-4EB8-B031-7486805E52DEI LOVE the packaging. The gloss itself is thick but not goopy, and it’s not sticky when applied. This is the shade Angelic.

The doe foot applicator is cool-angled and really makes for accurate application. The formula is gorgeous-you can wear it alone or as a topper as well. These retail for 18$. She’s got a ton of shades too-all really pretty.

Last, I’ve been really really REALLY wanting to try the Farsali Unicirn Essence and the Rose Gold Elixir but for 54$?? That was just an awful lot of money to try something. Luckily for me Sephora started selling minis of both! You get 0.34 ounces for 20$, which for me was far easier to swallow than 54$.

1B4EA599-499B-4979-A05C-7580B235E60DIt smells GOOD, not heavy or overpowering though which is nice. You can use it as a primer (which seemingly all the you tubers and IG chicks seem to do, letting it run down their faces like purple tears. You won’t see me doing that. Dumb.) or you can use it as a night time serum, or to enhance your highlighter.

Here are the drops alone, then rubbed into the skin. There are little flecks if gold, and when rubbed in there’s a slight luminosity. I like it, actually, it’s not glitter and not like, gleaming to outer space.

Now for the freebies!

My birthday gift-

336D7549-0D73-4242-B68B-617D85071D5CYou all know how much I love Caudalie, and I’m excited to try the serum. It’s funny, I just got into serums a month or 2 ago and now I have like, 5.

I used some of my points for this-Urban Decay Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid-E5796D20-B71E-4DBA-B8B8-6E4F5406ACFD.jpegIt’s pretty tiny, but whatevs. It was only 100 points. I haven’t had much luck with UD highlighting products-I had one of the powder highlight palettes and hated it, pure glitter, zero pigment. I gave it away. So I’m hoping this is better.

8B073500-7815-4162-85A5-98881EA12452The swatch looks promising-we’ll see how it performs on the face.

Thats all for Sephora!

LONG Overdue IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Palette Review

I’ve had this palette for MONTHS and I’m obviously slacking, because I’m just now blabbing about it. Which is a shame because I LUURVE this palette.

Firstly, it is all matte, no shimmers which is a really nice change. I don’t need to glitter ALL the time, and this is perfect for daytime looks.

Let me talk about the packaging which is awesome. It’s almost a faux soft leather, and has a magnetic closure which is great. It’s puffy as well, and feels essspensive.

Now for the shades:

There are some gorgeous pinks and purples, some on the pastel side, but buildable. They’re all beautifully blendable as well, and not a lot of fallout.

Now, swatches:

That’s the top row, the colors are from L to R: Sheer Koy, Soft Light, Warmth, Soulful, Mocha, Violet, Midnight, and Noir.

Now, the bottom row:

Again from L to R: Love, Sunrise, Sunset, All Heart, Java, Iconic, and Transforming Pearl (a great brow bone highlight).

This palette retails for 42$ and if you’re looking for a great matte palette that can give you subdued pastel or dramatic smokey looks, this is It. Ha-get it? See what I did?

Too Faced Peaches & Cream Collection

It’s heeeeere.

The Too Faced Peaches and Cream Collection has dropped, and I’m drooling.

The collection consists of foundation, an eyeshadow palette, primer, bronzer, blush, highlighter, matte lipsticks, setting powder, and setting spray-all infused with peach and sweet fig cream. I know a lot of people have peach exhaustion, and I get it. But, my Too Faced Sweet Peach palette is one of my favorites, and I’d love to see if they pulled this off.

The eyeshadow palette is all mattes:

The collection has a bronzer that looks like a latticed pie, and I’ve heard good things about it. The blush, bronzer, and highlight not so much.

I absolutely want the foundation though. It smells like peach 🍑

Now, I absolutely agree that Too Faced has over saturated the market with subpar palettes lately, so I hope this sort of redeems them. This collection is sold exclusively at Sephora and on TooFaced.com. Which is good for me, because I’m hoping the fam gives me sephora gift cards for the old birthday on Friday. 🤞

Drugstore Foundation Finds

I’ve been wanting to try the Wet n Wild Photo Focus foundation for a while now, while shopping at Walmart last week and dragging hubs to the makeup department, my wish came true.

It broke the bank at 3.92$ for 1 oz-ha. I was NOT disappointed.

It has a spatula-like applicator which I’ve never ever seen before, it’s not any more helpful than no applicator, but whatever.

It comes in a ton of shades-I’m pale AF with Nude Ivory. It ended up being a perfect match. It’s medium to full coverage, it did not oxidize at ALL on me, and stayed really well for the 6-8 hours at a time I’ve worn it.

The consistency is pretty thin and drippy though, but that doesn’t translate to its performance. I highly highly recommend it-for a drugstore foundation under 4$? I would say it’s on par with my 40$ coverFX foundation.

I was in Stop & Shop last night after dinner with a friend and holy sales-first? A gallon of whole milk for 99 cents. 99 CENTS. I bought 3.

Then this-

It’s normally 15.99$ but guys- 3.62$!!!!!!! I get it’s discontinued and if I love it, uh-oh, but whatevs. 3.62$.

I got the shade Bare Buff, it looked fine on my wrist, so hopefully it works. I’ll let you know 😁

Also an update on the Briogeo Hair Mask from my Boxycharm box……

Meh. It wasn’t the worst I’ve ever tried, my hair felt just ok, maybe a teeny bit softer than regular conditioner. I’ve yet to find anything that beats the Tresemmè Instant Recovery Hair Mask. Still my HG.

That’s all for now..

September Ipsy Glam Bag Review!!

Well, Lovelies-Ipsy is really really upping their game and becoming a subscription to be reckoned with. When I compare my glam bags from February to now? Exponentially better. Let’s begin, shall we? 😘

The bag itself is gorgeous-one of my all time favorites so far. It’s black with a raised stud-type pattern. Really simple and classy. Sometimes less is most.

And here we go with the amazing contents! First-a Luxie angled eyeshadow brush-

I’ve got a number of Luxie brushes in my collection and I’ve got zero complaints. They’re well-made, don’t shed, and perform wonderfully.  The approximate retail value of this brush is 12$.

Next-Adesse NY Gel Effect nail polish in the shade Deception-

It’s actually more brown than it looks in this photo, it almost looks green here-but it’s definitely a brownish-gray. I’ve received a number of this brand’s polishes, I do like them, a lot. They retail for 18$ though, which is a bit pricey for my 1.99$ nail polish-spending self.

I was really looking forward to this-

And oh emm gee. I LOVE this. It’s Skinfood Egg White Pore Control Cleansing foam. I tried it last nigh and it’s FABULOUS. The foam/lather is rich and thick but not too thick so it feels mask-y, it rinses easily and smells SO EFFIN GOOD. I’ll actually purchase this once it’s gone. Love love love. This is a sample, so no retail price, however it sells for 11$ at Ulta. I am soooo buying this, and checking out the rest of the line.

I got a Pixie by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Peach Honey-

It’s pretty-light peachy pink with a slight shimmer. Swatched-

It swatches light with my finger, I’m sure performs differently with a brush on the face. Either way it’s really light and pretty.  Retail price 12$.

Lastly is the item I requested for the month, Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in Ipsy VIP-

I love Colourpop’s gloss formula-not sticky or goopy. This is a rather opaque berry pink-

I love that it’s so opaque. Can definitely wear it alone or as a topper on another shade. Can’t go wrong with Colourpop. This retails for 6$. That said, I’d love to see subscription boxes including other Colourpop products such as their shadows, highlighters, and nail polish. They’re so much more than lipstick.

So there you have it-out of 5 items, 4 are full sized, bringing the value of this glam bag to approx 40$, for 10$ monthly? Incredible value.

What was in your September Glam Bag???

🌟 September Boxycharm Review 🌟

Boxycharm pulled some trickery on me this month-I never got an email with shipping notification so yes, I was griping-but she just showed up unannounced in my mailbox today and could not have been more welcome.

This month’s theme is “Boxy Baddie” and there are 6 items instead of the usual 5.

First, we have the MAC eyebrow pencil in Lingering-

It twists to get the product out, FYI (some people had a hard time) and here’s a swatch-

MAC describes it as self-propelling and self-sharpening, so there’s that. Retails for 18$. That’s kind of a lot for an eyebrow pencil with no spoolie, right? But, MAC.

I also received the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask-

It smells REALLY good-sort of coconut-y. It’s full size at 2 ounces and retails for 20$. I’ll be trying it today.

Next? Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Strip-

The Ultra Satin Lip formula is nice-the Ultra Matte, in my opinion is very unforgiving and tends to be super drying and flaky. It depends on the color as to just how flaky and drying-but this formula is more moisturizing, softer, and applies more smoothly. It dries down to a semi-matte.  These retail for 6$.

I got the bareMinerals Perfecting Face brush-yay, I wanted this one-

It’s got a little reservoir in the middle to put your foundation, and the bristles are nice and soft-

The reservoir is not as deep as it looks in this photo though. This brush retails for 28$.

Also, I got the Studio Makeup Loose Blush. I don’t see a shade name though-but you get A LOT of product. 7 grams-that’s a ton.

Swatched:

You know-it did not seem that pigmented-to get that payoff I had to do around 8 finger swatches. That said, it’s very possible that it performs better on the face with a brush. This retails for 35$.

Last but never least, the star of the box-the pür Soirée Diaries Eyeshadow Palette-

Nice, large mirror, y’all.  You’ve got 8 mattes and 4 shimmers-

Like my fingernail divot in the last pan? Neither do I 😩 when I pulled off the plastic protective cover, boom.

Next is the matte swatches. The first row shades are crazy light, so you won’t see much.

The mattes swatched sort of meh-but again, probably will be different applied.

But the shimmers swatched so beautifully, pigmented AF and gorgeous-

Love. This palette retails for 34$.

All told the retail value of this box is 141$. Amazing, for 21$- seriously.

Hope you enjoyed!

October Boxycharm Spoilers!

Already they’re coming!

I mentioned this one already-

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Prosecco Pop. You’ll either get the pressed powder or the liquid, the pressed powder retails for 38$, the liquid for 41$.

Next is Dr Brandt Poredermabrasion:

Love dr brandt products!! They’re pricey, high end, and work. At least for me. This retails for 58$. I’m not sure what the different is between this and the microdermabrasion that came in a previous Boxycharm box-except that one retailed for 80$, still I’ll use it and love it.

I thought I’d heard that the coverFX setting spray was going to be in October’s box as well but I’ll have to recheck that. With just the 2 items, the value is almost 100$!!!

You already know I’ll keep you updated.

YouTube Beauty Guru Dramz…

There’s always major drama in the beauty community, mostly backbiting and gossip. What you’d expect. There’s a new scandal that sorta makes me sad involving one guru I like, and one I can’t stand.

Kathleenlights is a YouTube beauty guru from the Miami area-she’s young, 25 maybe? And really for the most part drama and scandal free.

Jaclyn Hill is also another YouTube guru, who is more famous because of her overhyped morphed palette-I am not a fan. I find her phony and disingenuous.

So. The controversy. Kathleen went to Jaclyn’s house (they’re both in FL) to film a collab. Jaclyn was snap chatting Kathleen playing Jaclyn’s husbands VR game. During the snap, Kathleen busted out with the “N” word. Oh, Kathleen. Not you.

That in and of itself is scandalous, but it gets worse.

In the snap, right after Kathleen says the offensive word, her husband, Danny says “Don’t post that!” 2 or 3 times. Jaclyn claims she didn’t hear him and of course, posted it. The context in which it was said was “N—a don’t fuck with me!” While playing the video game. Jaclyn is all the while doing her hyperventilating cackle, laughing away. You CLEARLY hear Kathleen’s husband say “Don’t post that” but Jaclyn didn’t hear it. Allegedly.

I’m not a Jaclyn fan at all. I think she’s shady and will step on anyone and anything to further her career. I don’t think she’s above posting that knowing the implications and controversy it’s going to cause. She’s pulled some crappy crap in the past, and I just think she’s fake AF. When Jeffree Star was having his beef with Kat Von D, he allegedly called his friend Jaclyn, despairing over the fight and in tears. She allegedly comforted him, then promptly ran to the YouTube drama channels (Karina Kaboom, Rich Lux, John Kuckian for example), mocked Jeffree and spilled all. I know there aren’t a ton of Jeffree fans and I get why, but that’s messed up.

Jaclyn has pretty much given up with YouTube-she posts crap content once or twice a month, and is more interested in drunken snapchats-and she seems drunk quite frequently. Just sayin. She speaks SO fast, like a speed freak, and her voice is fingernails on a chalkboard. If I had a quarter for every time she said “literally”? I’d own my dream house on the seashore. Watch her Kim K YouTube collab. Cringeworthy. She’s constantly interrupting KKW, rambling, all about herself, and you can see KKW visibly over it. I’ll link it below, as well the video of the Kathleen incident.

I love Kathleen. While she definitely plays it safe with her content, she’s personable, and she’s cute. She can poke fun at herself. I like her presentation. I hope she can come back from this, and while it was a bad idea to bust out with that word, it was probably a worse decision to trust Jaclyn to snap her. Jaclyn took like 15-20 snaps of the same thing. I don’t know. I just feel like something is off.
Obnoxious KKW/JH video:

Mini Ulta Haul

I hit Ulta yesterday because they’re having their big 21 day sale, and the item on sale for the 3rd couldn’t be passed up!

If you’re unfamiliar with the sale, each day for 21 days certain items are on sale, usually at a 50% discount. The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was NOT what I came for, but whatever. It’s Ulta. I grabbed the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette for 27$-usual price is 54$. How could I have NOT grabbed that? Exactly.

I need another palette like I need a hole in my head but whatever.

I got some unexpected Urban Decay freebies with my purchase:

IMG_3514.JPGSome primer prep spray and the Shadow primer. People swear by the shadow primer, so excited to try it.

Ive been eyeballing this product for a while:

IMG_3515The I Dew Care Disco Kitten Illumination Diamond Peel Off Mask. It’s a metallic white, smells incredible and has rave reviews. I can’t wait to try it! This was 23$.

Finally, the item I came for.

IMG_3516Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum. It’s normally priced at 88$, but was on sale for 44$, plus I had 17.50$ off from my points-so all of this came to 81$, and I saved 88$. I also moved into the Platinum level for money spent there, so win win. Not the biggest haul, but I saved so much money and got some high priced stuff for not so high price. Then we went to Warwick RI for school shopping for my 16 year old and it was a horrific zoo.

Hope everyone’s having a fun and safe holiday weekend!
