They’re already spilling the July Boxycharm Spoilers, and the first one is a beaut.

The first spoiler is:

Boxycharm x blinc Electric Eyes Eyeshadow Palette-retails for 45$.
I love it-and this alone more than pays for the monthly sub fee!
I will update this as more spoilers are revealed.

Thanks to DupeThat for the image/info.

We’ve got a second spoiler!
July’s Boxycharm will also have Bare Minerals Prep Step-a primer with 50 SPF, and retails for 30$.

Thanks to My Subscription Addiction for the info.

Keep checking-I’ll post as they come in.

June Boxycharm

My June Boxycharm FINALLY landed in my mailbox today-it shipped on like, June 7. I feel like it stopped every 100 feet! Anyway, it was worth the wait.

This month’s theme is “Downtown Charm”. Cute, right?

First-the Real Her Palette.

In the box

I received the nude collection. It swatches nicely, seems pretty pigmented. The lighter colors actually show up way better in person:

I think I’ll like playing with this palette and I wanted the nude one. So, that’s a win. This retails for 28$.
Next, the Luxie Rose Gold Pro Precision Tapered Face Brush

As usual, I love this brush. It’s great for highlighter or brushing away extra setting powder, and Luxie brushes are bomb. Retails for 24$.
Diamond Glow Powder by Artist Couture

This powder is SO PRETTY. It’s intense, so if you use it as highlight be aware if you tend to be heavy handed. You can brush this loose powder on your collarbone, shoulders, wherever you want a little shimmer. It’s beautiful-a gold tone, but not glitter.

This retails for 26.99$
Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Lipstick

I received the shade Santa Ana, which is the one I wanted, yay. It’s a berry-wine color, gorgeous.

This is probably one of the best liquid lip formulas out there. It’s not drying, it’s not thick, nor is it runny. It smells AWESOME, like a light vanilla scent. Not overpowering either. I absolutely love this formula. Retails for 19.90$.
Last, but not least! 3 Biobelle Cosmetics sheet masks.

There are 3 different types: one called “I Woke Up Like This” which has wild rose and vitamin C, and enhances skin’s natural glow. The next Mask has pomegranate and hyaluronic acid and is called “#1 Beauty Secret”. This one moisturizers and helps skin appear smooth and firm. The last one has tea tree oil, rosehip extract and vitamin C and is a primer for before you apply your makeup. Sounds neat-I’m definitely trying that. These 3 retail for 14.97$ total.

And there you have it, June’s Boxycharm! I’m happy with it, the Ofra lip is a great product, the palette and powder are promising. I always love me some Luxie brushes. The value of this box is 114$. That’s on the lower value end of what I’ve received but I’m fine with that-for 21$ a month? Can’t complain.

Sephora Play! June Review

My Sephora Play! bag came earlier this week and I’m just getting to it now. I actually had a busy week, come to think of if it. So let’s jump right in to things, shall we?

This month has the usual drawstring bag, last month they switched it up but went back to the usual for June.

The first item we have is First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer

Holy moly that’s a long name. It’s a glowing, slightly luminizing primer. I used it yesterday, and I have to say after 4 hours my makeup was splotching between my brows and on my forehead. So it didn’t really make my makeup last. At all. However, as a moisturizer it’s fine, a light coconut scent.
Another primer, Benefit The POREfessional.

I’ve used this before, wasn’t my most favorite ever in the world? But it’s decent.
Here we have OUAI Rose Gold Hair and Body Oil

It contains rose hip oil, shea oil, and absinthium oil. A light rise scent-it was nice in my hair, not heavy and helped smooth it out. Also nice on the skin. It comes in a spray pump, which I like.
Next is IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel

This is supposed to help you get beachy hair, it’s supposed to separate strands for that perfectly tousled bedhead-at-the-beach look. I tried it and it did seem to separate strands, it’s got a fresh scent as well that’s not overpowering.
Last but certainly not least is Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade K-Dub.

It’s sort of a bright fuschia-pinky color but it’s not garish. I was really looking forward to trying this too, I don’t have any of her liquid lips and I’ve heard good things.

I do like it. It’s not streaky, it’s unscented, and it’s nice. I’m just not going to store it next to my Jeffree Star liquid lip 😳😛😱

So that’s it-the June Sephora Play-I’m happy with it, some things I would have normally never tried and some things I wanted to. All in all? Pretty decent!!

New Cover FX Awesomeness!

After much hemming and hawing, I finally decided to just take the plunge and get the Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation. I got the shade N20 because I’m never completely positive of my undertones (warm? Cool? Who knows?) so I went with neutral. It has a medium to full buildable coverage, blendable as heck, and leaves such a beautiful finish-it was worth all 40$.

It’s a squeeze top rather than a pump-I have no preference myself. It’s thick, but not too thick. Runny foundation makes me nervous, this consistency is perfect.

I’m really happy with this foundation, overall.

Next-I have been eyeballing this product for literally months, and gone back and forth because it’s not cheap (I really love it-but it’s 42$-but you can use it in so many ways-but it’s only a half ounce-Allie, a little hoes a loooong what, it’ll last forever$ so FINE!!

The Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops have found a place in my collection.

And I don’t regret it. Highlighter and related products are my faaaaavorite, you can wear this alone, add it to foundation-and it is stunning. I got it in Moonlight-and a tiny drop takes you FAR.

That’s actually kind of a big drop-but here’s the payoff:

So gorgeous. I haven’t tried it in my foundation yet but you know I will.
So those were my only makeup purchases for this month. What is wrong with me? 😜

The Vanity Area Update

I’ve been putting my little makeup area slowly but surely-I got this great little makeup mirror off of Amazon for 19.99$. Its got a little magnifying mirror that’s detachable, it’s battery operated (which I love-no cords) and the LED lights are dimmable.

The fairy lights are AWESOME. They’re tiny and on a super thin, bendable wire and are almost fiber optic looking. I got them on Amazon-6 strings at 3 feet each for 9.99$ and they’re worth every penny. Battery operated as well-no cords!

The shelf has my 3 coffee table books (so far): Face Paint, Killer Heels, and Jewels From the House of Tiffany. Also a photo, my Ipsy bags, a wooden sign that says “Besties”, and Norm the Gnome who guards my makeup 😉.

So far I’m pretty happy with it. I’m not sure what else to add if anything, but it’ll come to me. The lamp is going to go, I just need to get a better light. But there you have it!

RHONJ Gia Guidice’s Prom

DM has photos of Gia before her prom this week-she looks nice but holy-way-too-much-makeup. It’s piled, I mean piled on. She’s only 16-slow down, girl. She’s been wearing a shit ton of makeup since she was like, 12-which, not in my house but to each their own.

Storybook Cosmetics: Witchcraft and Wizardry Palette

I had a happy surprise when I got home today! My Harry Potter makeup FINALLY came! I was so excited to see it on the counter. It came in a pretty box, all wrapped in tissue and bubble wrap.
20170530_181044When I unwrapped it, I had a velvet bag to open and inside was the palette and a bookmark. Bookmarks are the best. I have a billion of them stuck in books all over the house. One would think that by the sheer number of bookmarks in books, that I”m reading all those books. That’s not the case. I just need somewhere to put them. I may take them all and put them on a pin board and make it look pretty. But anyway, this isn’t about bookmarks. It’s about makeup!

The palette comes with 12 different colors. I can’t wait to wear it. The shadows go one smoothly and while a few are a bit dark and will take some blending (as Get Out said in another post), they are beautiful. There’s not much of a scent to them and they seem to last. I tried wiping them off with just water and it took a little scrubbing.20170530_181149

I really like the palette, it opens like a book and has a big mirror on the left side with the shadows on the right. The downside is that it’s kind of big and it won’t fit in my makeup bag or drawer like the rest of my makeup.

I’m really pleased with how it came out and I can’t wait to wear it. If it wears well, I will plan on buying the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and/or The Hunger Games palettes that come out this summer. Also, I still want the wand brushes, the rose brushes and the new Wonder Woman brushes.

Allie, you have created a monster!!

Makeup News-Wonder Woman, Wonka, and More…

Some pretty exciting developments, y’all-
First, Storybook Cosmetics, the company that just released the Harry Potter inspired palette and brushes, has a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory palette coming this summer. They were able to get a licensing agreement for it-the actual Harry Potter eye shadow is getting rave reviews for its quality, so there’s that. Photo of the packaging for the Willie Wonka inspired palette below:

Also, British beauty brand Sleek Cosmetics is finalllllly available at Ulta! I’m so excited. It’s an affordable and popular brand, I’ve heard a lot of good things. Ulta link below:

Finally, Luxie has put out a set of Wonder Woman brushes-I absolutely LOVE them, and would give my left…..foot for a set. But, they’re a pricey 95$. Which isn’t bad for the brand-you get 5 brushes, and a single brush runs you 20-25$, but still. They ARE a great brush brand.

I mean, come on. Those are beautifully badass. Just like Wonder Woman-who incidentally I worshipped when I was like, 6, 7 and 8.

So there you have it!

My Mothers Day Gift (And A Helpful Hack

My daughter (who knows her momma well) knew that makeup for Mother’s Day was a win. So she ordered me a Kylie lip kit-I know, I know. I swore I’d never give her or that family money. But it was a gift, and my girl is 21-and in a 21 year old’s world Kylie is queen. The thoughtfulness erased any anti-Kylie sentiments I have.

She sent me Vixen, and apparently my shipment was late so Kylie stuck a free gloss in. Kylie, I have to say, does it right with shipping. She had to remove her name and logos from the outside of the boxes because they were getting stolen, actually, but here’s how products come now:

The lippies

Vixen is swatched below. It sort of reminds me a little if the classic Chanel shade, Vamp. It’s got the usual Kylie liquid lip scent-vanilla/candy/sweetness. I personally like it, but a lot of people find it way too strong.

The lip pencil is swatched as well.
Here is the freebie bonus Gloss, Exposed. A nude, light brown.

It’s pretty. Especially for being free. 😁
Ok-so this is my hack for liquid lipstick removal. A lot of your long-wearing liquid lips are so hard to remove-you need a sandblasted. I’ve got this hair oil in a pump spray from OGX-Kukuí oil-that I hate (leaves my hair heavy and greasy) but spray some on some tissue? Removes liquid lipstick like nobody’s business. Swatches as well. You’re probably not supposed to use it for lipstick removal, but it works so great. I’ve got a olive oil concoction for lippie removal as well, which I’ll post later.
