September Ipsy Glam Bag Review!!

Well, Lovelies-Ipsy is really really upping their game and becoming a subscription to be reckoned with. When I compare my glam bags from February to now? Exponentially better. Let’s begin, shall we? 😘

The bag itself is gorgeous-one of my all time favorites so far. It’s black with a raised stud-type pattern. Really simple and classy. Sometimes less is most.

And here we go with the amazing contents! First-a Luxie angled eyeshadow brush-

I’ve got a number of Luxie brushes in my collection and I’ve got zero complaints. They’re well-made, don’t shed, and perform wonderfully.  The approximate retail value of this brush is 12$.

Next-Adesse NY Gel Effect nail polish in the shade Deception-

It’s actually more brown than it looks in this photo, it almost looks green here-but it’s definitely a brownish-gray. I’ve received a number of this brand’s polishes, I do like them, a lot. They retail for 18$ though, which is a bit pricey for my 1.99$ nail polish-spending self.

I was really looking forward to this-

And oh emm gee. I LOVE this. It’s Skinfood Egg White Pore Control Cleansing foam. I tried it last nigh and it’s FABULOUS. The foam/lather is rich and thick but not too thick so it feels mask-y, it rinses easily and smells SO EFFIN GOOD. I’ll actually purchase this once it’s gone. Love love love. This is a sample, so no retail price, however it sells for 11$ at Ulta. I am soooo buying this, and checking out the rest of the line.

I got a Pixie by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Peach Honey-

It’s pretty-light peachy pink with a slight shimmer. Swatched-

It swatches light with my finger, I’m sure performs differently with a brush on the face. Either way it’s really light and pretty.  Retail price 12$.

Lastly is the item I requested for the month, Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in Ipsy VIP-

I love Colourpop’s gloss formula-not sticky or goopy. This is a rather opaque berry pink-

I love that it’s so opaque. Can definitely wear it alone or as a topper on another shade. Can’t go wrong with Colourpop. This retails for 6$. That said, I’d love to see subscription boxes including other Colourpop products such as their shadows, highlighters, and nail polish. They’re so much more than lipstick.

So there you have it-out of 5 items, 4 are full sized, bringing the value of this glam bag to approx 40$, for 10$ monthly? Incredible value.

What was in your September Glam Bag???

August Ipsy Glam Bag

As you can see, I got a gold bag instead of the usual pink bag this month….interesting….

It’s a new program Ipsy is launching-its called Ipsy Cash, and it’s a beauty rewards program where you get literal cash back for every purchase you make, either in a paper check or to your PayPal. There’s a catalogue type thing with all sorts of beauty products, and it explains how the rewards program works. I’m sure everyone will eventually get it.

So any way, the theme for the month is “Good Vibes Only”. There are 3 different Glam bag styles this month, this is the one I got:

It’s cute-it’s a faux leather feel, the inside is lined with a purple fabric.

My first item this month:
A True Spring Green Tea Watery Calming Cream

It’s got a nice light scent, and isn’t heavy or great. The bottle says “Heritage in France, Rediscovered in Korea”. I’m not sure what that means.

Next we have Derma E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum with Hyaluronic Acid:

It’s got sort of an orange-y scent, and I’ve never used a Serum so I’ll let you know 😉

Next, an SL MissGlam x Ipsy precise blending brush. This was the item I had requested for the month as well-

It’s cute! Nice teal color, the bristles are soft-seems like a nice little brush, plus I am always down for some new brushes.

I’ve got the Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara in Big Is The New Black

Sorry about the flash-dumb iPhone decided it was very necessary. What sucks is that my lashes suck so bad that even the best mascara on the planet does not help them. I can’t really tell a fabulous one from a shitty one because my lashes are just that puny, thin, and sparse. My lower lashes dont exist. Life is hard, y’all.

Last but not least, Seraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid Liner in black, obvie-

This is full size and retails for 22$. It’s actually a really nice pen liner. I find these much easier than the wand liners.

It’s got a great fine line, easy to maneuver.

And there you have it! I’m pleased with this month’s bag. I’ve been subscribing to Ipsy since January and in the past 6 months, they have REALLY stepped it up. Love them.

July Ipsy Bag Review

My July Ipsy Glam Bag made it FINALLY-although the pink sparkly envelope had seen much better days, it was literally opened and taped shut, but nothing was missing. Thanks FedEx.

The bag this month is adorable-its this Japanese pop culture little fried egg guy named Gudetama. Apparently, he’s lazy, somewhat depressed, unfazed, and unmotivated.

Even the zipper’s given up:

The inside is lined with a bright yellow liner, which I love.

Hubs is disturbed by the fact the the yolk has a butt. 😳 This bag is sturdy, it feels really well made. Not that they usually aren’t.

Ok! Onto the goodies!

First goodie: Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel

It’s obviously sample size-it’s got a refreshing scent and I’m excited to try it. This was the product I requested this month.
Ofra single pan shadow in Gold Rush-

I love Ofra shadows and Gold Rush does not disappoint. I’ll be adding her to my Z Palette today-retails for 6$ and here’s a swatch:

Next, Seraphine Botanicals Ginger and Gold Peach and Gold Frosting Blush-

Now this…this is a gorgeous peachy/gold blush, not too heavy or shimmery.

It’s got ginger, chamomile, lychee, and mangosteen extracts as well. Retails for 14$. Swatched:

It’s actually not as light as it looks in this photo-it’s really pretty.
I was hoping I’d get this, and was so happy it was in the bag.

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet. It smells AMAZING. There is, however, one MAJOR disappointment with this:

Seriously? I mean, I get that this is a trial/sample size-.33 oz or 10ml which is about 2 tsp, but I mean….no. I’m putting this on IG too. No shame. I’m looking forward to trying it-if there’s enough.
Last but not least, Chella Eyebrow Cream in Tantalizing Taupe

This pen type packaging is cool, on one end you have a tapered, thin eyebrow brush:

Then, on the other end, in the cap, is the eyebrow cream:

You dip the brush in the cream (which feels a little more powdery then creamy, but whatever). I haven’t tried it on my brows yet, but judging by the swatch I think I’ll like it:

This size retails for 24$-not bad, Ipsy!

And I got one extra goodie with my Ipsy points!

Real human hair, y’all. I haven’t decided how I feel about that. Like, exactly WHO’S hair is this? 😳 I’ll get over it I’m sure.

So there it is-the July Ipsy Glam Bag. This is probably one of my favorite bags-Ipsy has been gradually upping their game. The actual bag is adorable, and I feel like I got 3 full size products-the shadow, blush, and brow cream. If they’re not full size, they’re pretty darn close, and all for 10$. Brava, Ipsy.

***Ipdate**** (get it? Ipsy update?) I tweeted a photo of my almost-empty Caudalie, Ipsy contacted me and are sending me another. I thought that was pretty great customer service.

What was in your bag?

June Ipsy Glam Bag!!

My June Ipsy bag came today, to be honest, I’m a little meh over it. Only 1 full size item (I got spoiled with 3 full sized items last month) and one of the items I’ve already received in a Sephora bag previously. But that’s the risk you take when you have 3 subs, right? 😁

So on with it.

The bag is cute this month, and the inside is nicely lined with black fabric. I like it more than I thought I would.

The first item is the hey honey Uncover Detoxifying Mud Mask (this was my requested item).

It’s not overly fragranced, in fact smells like every mud mask I’ve ever used. I’m looking forward to trying it-I’ll let y’all know the results.

Next up is the Makeup Forever Aqua XL Eye Pencil. It’s long-lasting and waterproof, I did get one in my Sephora Play in March. I liked it just fine, but I didn’t feel like it went on as smoothly as some others I have.

Peek Makeup Black Eye Primer

I cannot get the lid off of this to save my life. It’s supposed to be a black Primer for smoky Eye looks and dark eye looks, which is actually a really great idea. If I could open it, I’d tell you more. I’m gonna have to have hubs take care of it when he gets home.
Next, some pūr mascara.

It’s mascara. What can I say. I haven’t tried it yet, but when I do, you’ll know!
Last, but not least-the only full-size item-Margaret Dabbs London nail polish in Green DayLily.

I am ALWAYS down for some nail polish-one of my favorite things to get in subs-but this color isn’t my favorite. I feel like Ipsy is always sending me blues and greens. This particular brand retails for 14$, so already more than paid for the monthly subscription.

Oh, and this is the theme for the month:

So there you have it!! The mascara didn’t wow me, I already have the eyeliner, and the nail polish didn’t knock my socks off. But the black primer is neat, and I asked for the mask, so that’s that!

May Ipsy Glam Bag

I’m currently grosser than gross, in dire need of a shower because-well, I’ll start from Friday-I took a shelf down and almost DIED when I saw how dirty and dingy my walls are-I’m not having it-so got paint/spackle/etc yesterday-spackled the largest wall in the living room then painted it, its done and I’m a sweaty painty mess. I’ll do another wall tomorrow, and I’m going to shower after I post this. So that’s the backstory, on to Ipsy.

This month’s bag is clear and waterproof, it’s got little ice cream cones all over, it’s cute.

We’ve got a Luxie foundation brush. I’ve got a few Luxie brushes, they’re good quality. This one retails for 23$.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics split pan highlighter/bronzer duo. This can’t be full size-on their website it says 21$. I’m not a big fan of split pan duos. But it’s pretty. Swatched below.

Full size CAILYN cosmetics Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint + Velvet in #32 Practicable. Holy shit that’s a long name. It’s a liquid lip, obvie-it’s thick and creamy, nicely pigmented-definitely a nude but I feel like I’ve gotten 4 versions of this shade in my subscriptions in the past 2 months. Retails for 19$.

IT Cosmetics SuperHero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara in black. It’s mascara-it isnt life changing, but it works. Not full size so I’ve no clue what it retails for.

Adesse New York Organic Infused Gel Lacquer in Surfer Girl. It’s pretty but you need about 3 coats to get it opaque. I’ve gotten this brand in my Ipsy before-it’s full size, and retails for 18$.

This month’s Ipsy value is pretty great-for the items I can price, the value is 62$, and that’s only 3 items. Damn good for a 10$ subscription. 3 full size items too-not bad, Ipsy!!

Beauty Box Reveals & Neat Ipsy Link

So I figured I’d do a post where you all can show what your subscription beauty boxes had in them for the month. I have a few submissions including what the Amazon “luxury” beauty box has in it. So, since beauty boxes even from the same subscription tend to vary, if you’d like me to post what came in your subscription, email me pics and descriptions.

For you Ipsy subscribers-if you want to be able to select one of your April products for your glam bag, here’s a link to do so. I chose a Tarte liquid lippie this month, and for next a Colourpop Creme Gel eyeliner. Link below:

First, generic213 sent what she got from Ipsy this month:

Her glam bag came with: (the descriptions are her own)

The Balm Bahama Mama-(aka worlds smallest bronzer-the size of my thumbnail) Haven’t tried yet because my face is larger than a Barbie’s face-lame.

Be a Bombshell Lip Gloss in Possessed- nice neutral color, tiny size, weird chemical taste.

MPrincess Pressed eyeshadow in Chestnut-looks darknin tray but goes on as a pretty, light bronze. Excited to try this for a shimmery twist on a smoky eye this summer.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer-I’ve heard great things about this Moisturizer for sensitive skin. It goes on smoothly, feels very lightweight and soaks in immediately. Good summertime moisturizer.

EVA NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer for Hair- I havent tried yet.

Sephora Play (it’s a screenshot with all of the descriptions of everything that came in her exact bag)

The Benefit Watt’s Up Cream to Powder Highlighter:

The MakeUp Forever Artist Shadow:

From Tben the Amazon Beauty Box. She put a Starbucks gift card on the box so you can tell how big it is:

The contents:

It came with:

4 Fragrances-Eternity Men’s, Clean Cashmere, Euphoria, LaCoste Poer Elle,

MD Solar Science Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF30, Proraso Shaving Cream, Marcus Toothpaste, Vichy Mineral Water Gel, Phyto Specific Deep Repair Cream Bath (really a mask), NuFace By Carol Cole Prep & Glow, Obliphia Seaberry Hair Serum, Agave Healing Oil Treatment, Ahava Dead Sea Water Mineral Hand Cream, Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener, Skin-Co Truffle Therapy Eye Concentrate, Elizabeth Arden Light Hour Cream, LA Roche Posey Redermic Anti-Aging Concentrate, Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream Natural Glow.

Sounds like a lot but they are teeny tiny true sample size.

If any of you want to add to this, send me your info!

What Are You Reading? And Other Misc.

I figured I’d do a new “What Are You Reading” post since I’m sure y’all are onto new books since the last post.

I’m reading “Idaho” by Emily Ruskovich. I’m about 1/3 of the way through-I’m really enjoying it. I actually won a book on Goodreads this week- they email me and let me know when there is a giveaway for a book on my to-read list, and I won “Breakdown” by B.A. Paris. I believe out comes out in June but don’t quote me on that.

In other news I tried that nail polish that came in my Ipsy bag-it was from LAW in the color Peri Or Whatever and it’s realllllly nice. It’s got one of the rounded brushes which I like a lot, and you really just need one coat. It retails for like 18$ so it better just need one coat.

I’m probably going to use a matte topcoat-I’m all about the matte topcoats nowadays.

Finished product with the matte topcoat-I likey!

Anyhoo-my cable is spazzing the F out-since like 2am Fri night it freezes, gets all pixelated, randomly changes itself to one channel and won’t let you change it….I called the cable company 8 times yesterday. Each time they had a new solution. But I think they’re just throwing guesses out there and hoping something sticks because it’s all of our TVs, the internet is being wonky too, my kid is losing his shit at his PS4 because the wifi will freeze up or drop right at an apparently VERY critical time in his game….so they need to figure it out. Hello, I have recaps to do. I think it’s the router. We shall see. I know we’ll be talking more throughout the day-I love you all, and you know why. ❤️

Retail Therapy and Some Good Sh*t Coming Soon!

It was a dismal, dreary day here yesterday-quite perfect for online shopping, actually. Plus my email inbox was being flooded with “LAST CHANCE!!!!” sale emails-what’s a girl to do? Besides buy into the hype that it’s really my LAST CHANCE.

I hit Colourpop and walked away

with these:

I have the Flexitarian highlighter and LOVE it. So I got a backup, and decided to try “Over the Moon”. I’m excited about the matte liquid lipstick in “Ribbon”-it looks like the red I’ve been searching for. The others are some metallics that I’m looking forward to.

Morphe 35F palette. It’s got 7 matte colors and the rest are shimmers. It’ll be my 3rd Morphe palette and I still can’t get enough. I also sent one to my daughter. Sharing the joy, yanno?

Next, the gifts that keep in giving, and I owe this one to you Lovelies for filling me in on subscription boxes:

I also ordered my daughter the Ipsy monthly subscription. She’s my inspiration for all that’s good, y’all.

Someone had mentioned possibly setting up a makeup swap/subscription box swap. I think it’s a great idea-not sure how to facilitate that, if anyone has ideas then message me.

Thank you guys, from the bottom of my heart for all of your kindness, support, and having my back. I can’t express my gratitude enough.

BUT! Next month, how about I start doing some giveaways?? No purchase necessary, HATERS- but I’ve got some things in the works and you will all benefit. It’ll be nice to have some makeup giveaways (that means free, it means I get nothing out of it but the excitement of giving away some free shit) and keep building, moving forward! ❤💜❤

One Of Those Days

Hello my Lovelies-

Thought I’d check in before the RHOBH recap goes up tonite-

I ordered 2 if the subscription boxes, y’all-Ipsy and BoxyCharm. Super excited about that. I hear that my next move is something like-I’m going to be placing ads to sell you guys makeup and swindle ERRRRRYONE!!! I can’t make this shit up. Sigh.

I was going to post a review if some NYX liquid lipsticks I just received but I’m not feeling it right now. Partially because I was underwhelmed by the product and partially because I’m just not in the mood. 😝

I did just order a new Morphe palette, a slew of Colourpop lippies with a couple of their highlighters-and I paid for them myself even. No donate button, no soliciting-go figure!! 😉 I will totes review them when they get here. Morphe takes forever unfortunately. I got the 35F palette and I’ve been crying for that one for a while. Yay!

So recap later-hope everyone is enjoying their day.
