  1. I’m so excited that my boxy charm shows up this week!!! All because of you. Great posts, many different topics and no one calling me a cunt. It’s like heaven on earth!

  2. Huge haul! I’m curious about the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. Someone else here mentioned how they love it.
Question: how do you determine which color will work for you if you don’t go into the store ?

  3. Can’t wait for it to come and see the reviews. I’m most interested in the Stila liquid eye shadow and the Laura Mercer tinted moisturizer.

I had half an hour to waste today in TJ Maxx this morning. I never go in there. Omg! With the facial stuff. They had Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Ardon, Shiesido, Lamcombe, among others. I was going to check out the Shiesido, but I didn’t have much time and Allie mentioned they test on animals, so I bypassed it for now.

Then I saw they had my Andalou products all for $5 and $6 so I grabbed a bunch. Most of it was the ones with the orange boxes and I usually get the one with rose stuff in it. But I’ll give it a whirl.

I also picked up a bunch of oil based cleansers. Someone from here, in the beginning of this blog, mentioned they do a home made oil facial cleanser and it works great. I wanted to try it but haven’t gotten around to it, so I will try the store bought one first to see how it goes. It’s called Marula Organix Oil of Africa. It was the most expensive thing I bought are $15.

I also want to try the Lancer emergency firming eye serum. It has argan oil with magnolia bark extract.

I spent way to much money. Lol!

    And their makeup selection sucks.

    • Hi, Oveish — I’m the one that washes their face with oil (aka the oil cleansing method). I use a mix of extra-virgin olive oil & castor oil. Sad to say, but most EVOO’s are crap and actual blended other oils, not pure olive (I’m looking at you, Rachel Ray & Whole Foods!!) so you have to be careful to get a pure oil. Here’s some info on that

And here’s more info on the oil cleansing method:

      • Thanks, Bethanney for the links!

I’m planning on trying it today. Thankfully, I have the Kirkland olive oil which is on the list of 100% olive oils. I wonder if Rachael Ray has changed her olive oil since that article came out.

The only question I have is how often do you do the cleanse? They say it may take up to 2 weeks for your skin to adjust. I thought you are supposed to use it every time you wash your face, but it says you can do it whenever you want to. But at the same time, the article says not to use store bought facial cleaners when you use this method because it will confuse your skin.

So, how often do you use it? TIA. 🙂

  4. Dang, that’s a haul!

Please tell me that you have contacted these companies for some advertising dough.

No new makeup for me right now. Booo!

  5. I don’t know how Companies decide ad’s for blogs, but from watching Stephanie Nicole, who tried to get an affiliate code for her subscribers to get a percentage off – she said they wouldn’t even give her a second look because she doesn’t have over 500,000 subs. I forget what palette she was reviewing, I watch too damn many YouTube tutorials because there are so many products that catch my eye. I did watch a few where they used the Stila and other brands of the glitter. The main thing was that it dried down pretty quick, which isn’t really a problem other than it surprised them when they went to blend. Jeffree Star just used regular shadow to soften the line, and the other one (it could have been Laura Lee or Kathleen Lights) tried messing with the actual glitter, and it fell onto their face. So, I hope that helps when you get it and start messing around with it. 🙂
I have 2 shadows in one of my Morphe palettes that I use all the time, and have hit pan, so I had been seeing rave reviews of the L’Oreal Infallible shadow’s. They come in pots, so I saw two shades that were real close to what I liked from Morphe. They are incredible. You almost have to break thru the top layer to get to the good stuff, and you need a stiffer small brush – but every time I wear those, someone compliments my eyes.
That is a sweet haul……I love it when I get boxes of product.
