Tinted Moisturizer?

I’m investing in some tinted moisturizer tomorrow and would love opinions on what you all use and like the best. I’m leaning towards the Laura Mercier-was going to get the Shiseido BUT they test on animals so that’s a big pile of nope. Stila, NARS and Tarte are interesting me too. Thoughts?

  1. I don’t think that it qualifies, but I literally swear by Clinque City Block. Goes on softly and just evens out the skin tone and doesn’t seem to clog my pores. I have it in both 25 and 40SPF. I use moisturizer under it, well technically, I’ve stopped using “moisturizer”…I use Coconut oil mixed with “Forget your lines” (Nature’s Gate)…hides my wrinkles excellently! 🙂

  2. I love tinted moisturizer. I have used Lancôme tinted moisturizer for years but got a sample of tinted Tarteguard SPF 20 which will be nice for summer. It won hands down. I love the Tarteguard and will be ordering today so I have some when the sample is out.

  3. I use Andalou CC moisturizer for sensitive skin. It’s all organic, cruelty free and sulfate free.

I’m going to be a pill and mention that it uses zinc oxide for the sunscreen. Other types of sunscreens can be hormone disruptors.

I’m including a link in case anyone is interested in the different ingredients for sunscreen and if they are safe or not so much. On a bright note, there is a new chemical being used that doesn’t seem so bad called avobenzone.

    Here’s the link:

  4. I had some BB tinted moisturizer, and it went on very orangey.
I am using Sephora Foundation, but I do prefer the lightness of a tinted moisturizer.

    • That’s genius!! Totally trying that out, Bethanney! Great tip!!

Pip- I’ve tried a few BB’s. They were either too orangey or cast a funky gray hue on my skin. I’m a hard match because I’m fair with blonde hair/blue eyes but I tan easily and have a lot of pink undertones. Nationality wise, I’m 1/2 total mutt, 1/4 Polish, 1/4 Italian. Color matching is a nightmare! I’ve trippped up Sephora associates many a time.

Anyway, I’ve read that the American BB creams don’t even compare to the Asian brands.

Allie- please let us know if you find a good one!

      • I’ve got the same coloring, Janey Mae except I have very warm tones. (I don’t really tan; I “golden”). Not sure where I came across the foundation-in-moisturizer tip but it’s essentially the same thing as BB cream. You don’t have to worry about shade matching and you can control the coverage by the amount of foundation you mix in.

  5. I’m using a cc cream I like but forgot what it is called. Tinted moisturizers are my jam and I’d love a good one! Oh AND I am off the boxycharm waitlist which means one is on the way so hopefully you got a referral code kickback!

  6. I have never used a tinted moisturizer. Maybe I should? I will be interested in suggestions. Might be a summer thing to try. I like something to even skin tones without actually using a foundation for those hot humid days.

  7. I use Clarins tinted bb tinted moisturizer in the summer I wear moisturizer under it also because I have dry skin. It has a dewy look with a good amount of coverage.

  10. I don’t wear makeup. Haven’t since just after college. Fast forward 40 yrs and my skin is in need of some freshness! I don’t like the feel of foundations covering my pores but I do need that brightness to make me look more “alive” LOL. Are tinted moisturizers a lighter coverage with a little brightner?
