Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You.

Since December this blog has had more than a quarter of a MILLION views. That’s unimaginable to me. I seriously can’t even wrap my head around that number-but thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

Talk soon, Lovelies

  1. Congrats on a job well done!

Now, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and be 100% honest (and thanks to the anonymity of the internet no one can come to my house with pitchforks) but…

I think you should consider ads.

Not a shitload, no annoying pop ups, nothing distracting from the text – but an ad or two. Tastefully done (at the bottom of pages, for example) and (obviously) targeted towards your core audience.

I love that you are putting your time and effort into doing this for purely altruistic reasons – seriously folks, that is beyond commendable – and most of the time that is it’s own reward, but I, for one, wouldn’t mind an ad or two, and yeah your not gonna get rich doing it, but hell. Why not? I did the math. 250,000 x .001 = $250

I know this probably won’t be a popular opinion, and that’s ok. I’m just giving food for thought.

    Anyway, Congratulations!!! ❤️

      • Huge congrats!!! That’s a phenomenal number of views!!

There has got to ne someone around here who can point you in the right direction.

    • I agree with you 1000% Berg. I think Allie has worked extremely hard to make her space so fun, stressfree and fair for all which is not an easy thing to do. I’s just a really cool site.

I highly encourage you, Allie, to do these ads or whatever makes you income as you deserve to be compensated for all these well written recaps, makeup tips, product reviews, “fashion police” fashion reviews etc.

  2. Good for you, well done.

Now…..I have to ask – is anybody else watching “Imposters”??? I’ve been watching it, but I can’t decide if it’s brilliant or stupid.

Also – who’s in for “Feud” about Joan Crawford and Bette Davis? Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange, I think it’s going to be good.

  3. Congrats !
Now off to find you on twitter just to tweet links to recaps!
I am feeling feisty today after reading past few days esp with few new posters. Helen Keller can see who it is! This whole thing is ridiculous going way overboard causing harm in real life! I was out (not in my secure wifi) using my iPad only to get unsafe yet again . If I am home on this iPad then I can visit any sites never getting any messages . It was weird that once I was not using secure wifi it warned me not to visit! I hate to beat a dead horse so my apologies but it’s just strange to me why it’s still like that !
Thrilled that this site is safe ! Keep up good work Allie and the rest you ALL !

      • Depends. You can do the canned google ads which is the easiest and lowest paying or you can spend time finding brands to advertise, and/or you can do affiliate links. If it were me I’d start with the canned google ads just to see how it goes and then grow from there. And do patreon of course. I’d also look into affiliate links with makeup sellers/companies if I were you. You get accused of selling makeup so you might as well 😉

      • I don’t know how to do it either, but what Mrsmuffin said below makes sense?

I think it’s worth doing a little homework on? Nothing ventured, nothing gained 😉

      • It’s such a great feeling to see good things happen to others! It’s been amazing watching this blog grow…just a few months in…whaaaa… can’t wait to see the exciting things that lie ahead for you!

The darkness is over, sweet Allie….keep on shining as we’re all enjoying basking in your light! 🌞💕

      • I’m so happy for you! I think your personality comes through really well. If I said this before I apologize but I thought wordpress had different levels of support and one of them involved ads. You could try there or google, making money with your blog or something like that. You are very good at research.
I could take a look, try to find something.

  5. Well, Imposters is good, there is something I can’t put my finger on. I think some of the acting is cheesy – like Uma Thurman last night. It is hailed as a dark comedy, so I guess it’s meant to be cheesy at times? I have a feeling it’s going to be like “The Affair” and at the end of the season have no real resolve.

  6. Congrats Allie🙂 I’m behind you 100% regarding the ads! I’m sure there is a way to not make them be so annoying. Oh! About your birth song, I was named after that song, I was born in 79 and my mom is a huge Rod Stewart fan.lol.

  7. OK. I’m going to end the pain right now. I know I’m chronologically old but this is some fucked up shit. My song is Woody Woodpecker.
If you break the name down there are three things I like but…really??? This has to be a mistake. Please tell me it ain’t so.

  8. Awesome job Allie.
I just looked up my song and it was wanted by Perry Como. Sh*t. Why couldn’t I get a cool song. Even an Elvis one would have been better. Am I really that old!!! I loved Rod Stewart and Maggie. I wanted to name one of my dogs Maggie but I got voted down. I wanted Layla or Lola too. I even loved Bette Davis Eyes. I never even heard a song by Perry Como, just saw him on a show with Lady Gaga. Anyway I guess we all should be grateful that no one got Sir Mixalot’s Big Butts lol

  9. C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ‼️
I am disclosing it here and attempting to reach admin at Lipstick Alley but I did not make any posts there ever. I would not use my E1BC name over there to look like a shit stirrer. Just wanted to state that openly. I think I am smarter than that. Sorry to have to bring up a stupid subject while we are on a happy one but 5Cats & friends are accusing me of such.

Congrats on your excellent blog, dear Allie. I think adding some ads is a requirement soon! 🙌🏼🤑 You deserve to be paid for your time.

    • Thank you my love-I hope you got in contact with admin there-the impersonator doesn’t even sound like you. So childish and moronic. “Ooooh let me start crap on lipstick alley-I’ll pretend to be….hmm…E1BC!! Yes, that’s it!” Dumb.

    • E1BCalm, I’m so sorry to hear! I thought things had calmed down. I’m sad to hear that someone is impersonating you. You are one of a kind and can’t be replaced. So sorry!

    • I know with all certainty that Amy didn’t post at Lipstick Alley. That is just something that she wouldn’t do. If people want to post something at least have the nerve to use your own name. Saying this like LVP did when she was mimicking Rinna “Own it, own it!”

    • Good lord More childish behavior you have to deal with ! I am so sorry this is happening to you ! Please for the love of God people give it a rest and leave everyone be calm alone ! Whoever is Messing with her you are being an asshat so just stop it and grow up and move along

    • Ditto, Every1 & I can always throw on my s#*t-kicking boots for those attempting to malign you!!! You’d think with 5cats, there would be sufficient fleas & ticks to keep her/him busy, mkay? I’m sure the handle was chosen because that’s as high as he/she can count. So, let’s try to be kinder & more patient toward those with special needs, mkay!?!

  10. You know what, I’m really happy for you, and I think, judging from what I read from you, and the way you go out of your way to welcome new posters, I think you are a perfectly lovely person I would like to get to know personally. I think we would get along fabulously. While I did not post on that other topic I agree with those that think, you know, we all have lives, and all of us have done things we wouldn’t acknowledge publicly, but you did. That’s awesome! When I read that post I thought “BRAVO” take the fire out of that attempt! And that’s how I generally feel.

    • Thank you WonkyTonk! I do try to welcome all new posters, and I answer every message sent. I feel that’s the right thing-if someone is going to take time out for me, the least I can do is give the time right back. I’ll always do that as long as I can ❤

    • The goal was to douse the fire that was lit by taking back my story. It’s mine to tell and tell correctly-it would have been nice to do it on my own time, when I felt a little safer/ more comfortable but she actually did me a favor because it’s over and out. I don’t have to worry about it coming out-it’s out-and thank god no one hates me or feels differently. In fact a lot of you shared your stories to further douse the flames in allegiance with me. Awesome and appreciated. This isn’t the first time I’ve been demeaned and degraded for being a DV survivor by that blogger. I find that so odd. Just woman to woman-off. But things are beautifully quiet now and I would love to keep it that way. 😘

  11. I just got done reading Megyn Kelly’s book “Settle for More” and the message I came away with was that of honesty, integrity and being brave enough to speak your truth. There are so many brave women here — first of all, Amy, who dared to speak out when someone was being verbally abused. I’m sure there were other times that someone tried to call out abusive comments, but those were never put through. It was a glorious moment of karma that Amy’s comment managed to land when moderation was lax because the rest of us that were outraged were able to follow Amy. I felt terrible for Allie when the Idiot Blogger dug up her past and published it with no regard or respect for her family; her children. But Allie stood by her truth, effectively changing the narrative. That was brave. And Amy — I’m very glad that you’re NOT over at LSA trying to stir things up. The Twitter morons are still so overly-invested as to who is saying what & where that this revelation must surely be a supreme disappointment. They’ll still insist it’s you, of course, but that’s a ridiculous argument when the truth says otherwise.

And therein lies the heart of the matter: others can flap their gums and say whatever stupid random thought flits across their small minds, but it takes a very brave and courageous person to stand on their truth. I have so much admiration for the others on this blog that shared their stories and the obstacles that they have overcome. You guys are an inspiring group!

On a lighter note, my anthem is “Help” by the Beatles. Which is entirely fitting…

  12. Well folks you can definitely tell how old I am by my birthday year #1 song. I got All Shook Up by Elvis Presley. Maybe I should really follow my anthem and do some shaking up.

  13. Per the redundant & inarticulate one, I’m just doing my job of keeping the population here at 20, while rolling my eyes & on the floor with roaring laughter! Mkay (in my best Mr. Mackey voice, circa South Park)? Sorry, I couldn’t help myself 😉

These are well-deserved kudos for a well-constructed blog which continues to be enjoyed by commenters & viewers, alike. MASSIVE CONGRATS, ALLIE – GOOD LIVING IS THE BEST REVENGE!!! I’m so happy to be gainfully employed by the company – hahaha!!!
